A holiday on Thassos is all about exploring the island. And whether you have a car or not, there’s another smart way to get around: the Thassos public bus network (KTEL) lets you discover the island’s enchanting destinations while enjoying comfort, affordability, and, above all, an authentic travel experience.

In this article, you’ll discover how to tour Thassos by bus, along with 9+1 stops that deserve a place on your itinerary!

Travelling Around Thassos by Public Transport

With its almost circular shape, well-maintained roads, and a coastline of around 100 km, Thassos is an island you can easily explore by bus, even in a single day. Your journey starts in Limenas, where the Thassos bus station (KTEL) is located.

During the summer, the first buses start running shortly after 6 am, with the last services operating until just before 7 pm. Routes connect all the island’s villages and most of its beaches, while you can also choose from the two services called “Tour of Thassos.” These routes travel either via Panagia or via Prinos, giving you plenty of flexibility. You can get off at one of the stops along the way and continue your journey later on the next bus.

You can find information about Thassos bus schedules on MyThassosApp. Ticket prices vary depending on your destination, and tickets can only be booked at the KTEL offices. For more information, we recommend calling +30 25930 22162.
